Acrylic paintings

The waterfall above was an experiment to see if I could capture water and make it look more alive.

This is an image from the local river running through Linkoping, called Stångån.

This is an acrylic of an alley I passed in Falun. It was sold to a friend of mine.

And another waterfall, simply because I find them very beautiful.

All acrylic experiments

I like working with acrylic paint. I can experiment and not have to wait an eternity for it to dry, and still it's a bit more advanced than aquarelle. I'm sure I will try oil eventually too, but this is a new step for me, going beyond drawing with pencils. I have basic colors (white, yellow, red, blue, green and black) and some silver and gold to add highlights if I feel like it, simply because I like blending the colors myself. It lets me get that perfect color I see in my head, and it doesn't matter to me what name would have on a bottle in the store.

The collection to the right started out as something fun, just to see if it was possible to draw a human body without actually drawing it. The wine-colored one was the first and after that I simply experimented with bodies doing different things, trying to see if people could guess what it was. Most of them were painted while I sat outdoors on the town square and I got a lot of response from those walking by. It was a fun experience. Two of them ('Winning' and 'Loving') were sold to a friend of mine.

The three-piece painting to the left side is something I've had in my head for some time and finally got out on canvas. Originally it was meant to be only one piece, but I didn't have the canvas for it, or the money to buy a frame of a suitable size. Worked out alright anyway, I think.
